ANNOUNCING a wonderful thing. I'm finally ready to open shop in doing what I do! As an avid plein air oil painter with a passion for fashion, I've developed a business model which utilizes my unique combo of skills and interest to provide expert seamstress services along with fashion workshops and art. I'm going to call it The Peaceable Kingdom, and will encompass a variety of pursuits and services. Here's just the beginning....

 

First, for the classes, Catamount Arts is hosting project peacetrain an up-styling fashion adventure for middle schoolers. For one week beginning 8/18/22, we will disassemble, distress, revamp, bedazzle, and make miracles out of jeans and men's shirts and stuff. The student Fashion Show will be held on Final Friday 8/29/22 in downtown St Johnsbury.  Go to catamountarts.org for more info.  Space is limited so hurry!

Also, with Catamount Arts, I will be teaching Intro to Plein Air Fall Edition, beginning 9/28/22. This is a 5 week program where you'll learn the basic and streamlined version of plein air painting, which results in your confidence to continue to paint outdoors on your own or with friends, and the motivation to practice in the studio on your own. In collaboration with Chrysalis Creative, a new sewing studio space located on Eastern Ave in St Johnsbury, I am able to schedule atelier studio time for private or semi-private pattern-making and sewing instruction. Please contact me by email or phone for available dates and times beginning in September.

Finally, I am now accepting sewing work for alteration and repair, I'm happy to do the smallest tasks to more complex garments (however, no wedding gowns or tailoring of men's suits due to the number of fittings required).  The price list shows an average of prices paid once the work has been evaluated for the repair or alteration. Please allow enough time for turn around, generally between 2 days-2 weeks.  Send a photo of the item by text or email with your request and I will call you to discuss the project.  I will arrange a drop off or pick up time with you once we have spoken by phone.
